The Right to Education Foundation becomes the OTP Bank Romania Foundation

Bucharest, September 20, 2021 – The Right to Education Foundation, OTP Bank Romania’s most important social responsibility pillar, launched in 2014, becomes the OTP Bank Romania Foundation. The name change announced today is in line with the foundation's strategy to become one of the main pillars of educational transformation in Romania.

The renaming takes place in the context in which the foundation's activity is in full development, and in order to adapt to the informational and educational needs of the active generations, the OTP Bank Romania Foundation transforms from a provider of financial education into a creator of educational content.

The Foundation’s new objectives are to develop and implement a different kind of educational experience for the Z generation, in accordance with their individual values and future goals; support for students and teachers, so they become successful partners in school activities, but also for the improvement of teachers' digital skills; creating high quality educational content and training trainers, through which we make the transfer of these learning products towards a larger audience.

"Education must be rethought in this digital age. The younger generations need programs tailored to their needs. We understand the new context and we constantly contribute to educational transformation. We create valuable educational content, build new synergies between the Foundation and OTP Bank Romania, we start new educational projects with external financing, through Erasmus or the European Social Fund, and we work on new local partnerships. I want to believe that, through its actions, the OTP Bank Romania Foundation is a promoter of modern learning ", said Diana Mișa, president of the OTP Bank Romania Foundation.

In the matter of strategic partnerships, the OTP Bank Romania Foundation and the Federation of Free Trade Unions in Education (FSLI) have developed the national digital educational program "Online Lesson", which is dedicated for the teachers. The Foundation designed, developed, and implemented the digital skills module and the emotional intelligence module, both being an integral part of the program accredited by the Ministry of National Education. Thus, during May-June 2021 the Foundation's team has trained 50 FSLI trainers, while 150 teachers have participated in our program as students.

In its 7 years of activity, the Foundation has implemented an important portfolio of educational projects built on four main lines of activity: financial education, children's education, career guidance and strategic partnerships with local associations and NGOs. Among these are financial education or career guidance workshops for teenagers, the launch of the Bethlen Gábor Alapkezelő scholarship or the inauguration of OK Center - the first center in Romania dedicated to financial education, both for teenagers and adults.
