OTP Bank Romania announces a 66% increase in the number of digital product users and a new interface for the SmartBank app

Bucharest, 20 October 2023 - OTP Bank Romania announces a significant increase in the number of digital product users, with a 66% growth in the number of clients in the last year and a half. Additionally, clients will benefit from a new digital banking experience with the revamped interface of the SmartBank mobile application.

As digital solutions become increasingly accessible, over 80% of OTP Bank's clients have adopted the Internet & Mobile Banking application. Digital banking has attracted a large number of individual customers who have chosen to become OTP Bank clients through a 100% online process since its launch in 2021.

OTP Bank is committed to providing 100% digital banking solutions to meet the needs of its customers. This commitment is reflected in ongoing efforts to improve the online account opening process and digital solutions offered to clients. Recently, the number of individuals who have opened accounts online has reached historic levels, with record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance in terms of new customer numbers.

The new user-friendly and intuitive interface for online account registration fully addresses the urgent needs of customers, providing them with a complete and comprehensive online experience. Rapid and secure customer identity verification is now at their fingertips, granting access to all the advantages of the Internet & Mobile Banking application, available 24/7.

One of the bank's most popular digital solutions, the SmartBank app, has been adopted by over 80% of clients, allowing them to manage banking operations directly from their mobile devices. This has contributed to an impressive 79% increase in transactions through Internet & Mobile Banking services. Soon, clients will enjoy a new experience offered by the SmartBank app, upgraded with new features that allow for dashboard customization based on individual needs and preferences.
